ISLP Poster Competition 2020-2021
WinnersThis competition has now finished and International prizewinners announced. The competitionISLP is pleased to announce the International Poster Competition for 2020-2021. The competition invites school and university students from around the world to design a statistical poster. The topic is environment, biology or sustainable development. The posters should reflect or illustrate usage analysis, interpretation and communication of statistics or statistical information. There will be a National competition within each country involved, followed by an International competition to determine the overall winners. These will be announced and the posters displayed at the 63nd World Statistics Congress of the ISI in the Netherlands in July 2021. Advice regarding postersYou may be interested in ISLP poster session presentation 2015 which has valuable advice about designing and presenting a poster; it was written by James Nicholson, Alejandra Sorto and Pedro Campos. In the Poster Competition 2020-2021, participants are provided with JMP software. It can be used for analytical and graphical purposes in creation of a poster. However, participants are free to use any tools in their work. The software will be available for students, teachers, faculty staff and country coordinators, who participate in or promote the competition. The code to access the software will only be given once the country coordinator registers the first students in the competition. RegistrationThe registration will begin on February 3th, 2020. The competition is open to teams of 2 to 5 students. There are three categories
Teams are registered by teachers or faculty staff. They will inform the country coordinator of their home country of participants by January 15th, 2021. The country coordinator informs the ISLP Project member Jaana Kesti (jaana.kesti@stat.fi) of the amount of participants. If you don’t find your country’s coordinator from this list please inform the ISLP Director Reija Helenius (reija.helenius@stat.fi). The country coordinators will also upload the national winning posters on the ISLP website before closing of the competition. The ISLP team wishes everybody good luck for the competition! In the university category, the prize for the international winner is €2000. ---- En españolLa competenciaISLP se complace en anunciar el Concurso Internacional de Carteles para 2020-2021. La competencia invita a estudiantes de escuelas y universidades de todo el mundo a diseñar un póster estadístico. El tema es medio ambiente, biología o desarrollo sostenible. Los carteles deben reflejar o ilustrar el análisis de uso, la interpretación y la comunicación de estadísticas o información estadística. Habrá una competencia nacional dentro de cada país involucrado, seguida de una competencia internacional para determinar los ganadores generales. Estos se anunciarán y los carteles se mostrarán en el 63º Congreso Mundial de Estadística del ISI en los Países Bajos en julio de 2021. Consejos sobre cartelesTal vez le interese la presentación de la sesión de pósters de ISLP 2015, que tiene valiosos consejos sobre el diseño y la presentación de un póster; Fue escrito por James Nicholson, Alejandra Sorto y Pedro Campos. En la Competencia de pósters 2020-2021, los participantes reciben el software JMP . Se puede utilizar con fines analíticos y gráficos en la creación de un póster. Sin embargo, los participantes son libres de usar cualquier herramienta en su trabajo. Informarán al coordinador del país de su país de origen de los participantes antes del 15 de enero de 2021. El coordinador del país informa a Jaana Kesti, miembro del Proyecto ISLP, sobre la cantidad de participantes. Si no encuentra el coordinador de su país en esta lista , informe al Director de ISLP, Reija Helenius (reija.helenius@stat.fi) .
