ISLP Poster Competition 2024-2025

ISLP is pleased to announce the International Poster Competition for 2024-2025. The competition invites school and university students from around the world to design a statistical poster. There is no particular theme or topic required for a poster to be eligible. The posters should reflect or illustrate usage analysis, interpretation and communication of statistics or statistical information.

There will be a National competition within each country involved, followed by an International competition to determine the overall winners. These will be announced and the posters displayed at the 65th ISI World Statistics Congress in The Hague 5 October 2025-9 October 2025.

Advice regarding posters

You may be interested in the ISLP poster session presentation 2015 which has valuable advice about designing and presenting a poster; it was written by James Nicholson, Alejandra Sorto and Pedro Campos.

In the Poster Competition 2024-2025, participants are provided with JMP software. It can be used for analytical and graphical purposes in creation of a poster. However, participants are free to use any tools in their work. The software will be available for students, teachers, faculty staff and country coordinators, who participate in or promote the competition.

Students and instructors can access JMP Student. This is a 12-month license for either Windows or Mac. Codes are no longer needed to access the download of the software. When the form asks for a course, the student or instructor can fill in “ISLP”.

On 23 May 2024, Volker Kraft held an introductory workshop on how to use JMP to create statistical charts, graphs, and many other visualisations. The workshop is a highly recommended resource for those, including teachers, who want to facilitate the usage of statistics in students' posters. Take a look below!
