This presentation brings together experiences from statisticians working in analytics for social good. Participants in these activities come from academia, industry, government, students, and volunteers using statistical expertise for the greater good of society. The presenter will share experiences working with local charities, universities, NGO's, and other organizations around the world. Data for Good opportunities discussed include opportunities for students, working with professional associations, and citizen science community organizations such as Statistics Without Borders and DataKind. The discussion will then turn to practical recommendations for getting connected to projects to help become involved Data for Social Good.

About the presenter
David J Corliss, PhD is a Principal Data Scientist at Grafham Analytics, a data science consultancy. He is the founder of Peace-Work ( link: www.peace-work.org), a volunteer cooperative of statisticians, data scientists and other researchers applying analytics in issue-driven advocacy. Dr. Corliss is active in research, conference presentations, and teaching training courses on ethical best practices in data, analytics, and AI.
