Local Information

Venue: The Roundtable will be held at the Max-Planck-Institute for Human Development in Berlin, Lentzeallee 94, 14195 Berlin, Germany. For the Institute's location, see the interactive map below.

Lodging: We reserved blocks of rooms for all participants at the Harnack Haus (an official pension of the Max Planck Society) and at Pension am Rüdesheimer Platz and other nearby (walking distance) hotels listed below, to enable all participants to stay together and help the social experience and group-work. These establishments offer accommodations at a moderate cost, estimated around 75-95 Euros, including breakfast.

Meals: Participants will take their lunch on their own at the Institute's cafeteria. For dinners, the social program will include an evening reception on Tuesday (included in the registration fee) and on Thursday an optional boat cruise (covered) and dinner (not included in the registration fee). Dinners on the other (free) nights are at the discretion of participants; we will publish information about nearby restaurants.

Transport: The venue is easily accessible by public transport (train, bus) from the Berlin main train station and from its airports. Please look under "Notices" for a PDF file: "Travel info to Berlin and to Harnack-Haus & Max Planck Institute" with further details. At your hotel, ask your reception desk for instructions and directions for the Max-Planck-Institute, either walking (10-20 minutes) or by U train (underground, every 5-10 minutes) or bus. There are stopping stations in front of the MPI.

General information about Berlin: For more information about travel, tourist attractions, entertainment and visa information, please see the Official Berlin homepage.
